We thopught we would show you what alll the drilling which has been going on ther past few weeks has been about. As you can see behind all those locked doors and temorary walls massive changes have been taking place making the areas you used to know and love unrecognisable. The old roof of level 3 has been removed and now the steel work for the spaces like the Gallery extension can begin, take a look at what it will be like when it is finished.

These are some images of the the new Sheffield Volunteering Office being built. The old STA travel space has been altered and the new doors for the Volunteering Office have been fitted. You can also see an image showing the layout of the new office when it is finished.

The builders have started to remove the ceiling of level 4 to fit new pipes for our new, more environmentally friendly, air conditioning units. The old units have been removed fromt he roof of level 3 because the roof is being removed to create a double height Main Entrance.

Steel work for the extension of the Students’ Union lift tower being set up. This space will contain a new meeting room and a seating area over the doors of the Main Entrance. Why not take a look at what it will look like when it is finished?

Here are some shots of Union Express being made ready for its opening on Monday February 8th. This new smaller shop is designed to make it easier for oyu to get your newspapers, sandwiches confectionary without having to go through Fusion.

Photos of the huge crane outside Bar One last weekend. Whilst there was momentary panic from some distant onlokers that the builders were going to try and carry the Students’ Union away the crane was in fact lifting up steel and airconditioning units onto the new roof.
